How can this program help my company?
I
t raises skill levels of employees, provides operational agility through cross-training, increases efficiency,  provides access to other community support programs and provides career advancement opportunities.


What kind of training is eligible?
Almost any kind of classroom type training that raises the skill levels of your employees is eligible for ADVANCE grants.   We maintain an ADVANCE List of Suggested Courses C.pdf but if you would like to provide training that's not on the list and meets our requirements, we'll add it.  Our sponsors would like to see training in Remedial & Life Skills, Supervisory/Management skills, Fundamental Skills, Regulatory Compliance and Technology.

Is the rental cost of a training room covered?
Room rental costs are not covered.

Who provides the training?
You decide.  The company chooses who they want to provide the training. Our sponsors ask that they be recognized, experienced trainers.  We maintain a  list of Training Resources (TR), but if you would like to use someone that is not on the list and meets our requirements, we'll add them. So make sure your trainer is registered.

Can we start our training right away?
No,   you must submit your online forms as outlined, meet with CCAT and have your application approved before any training is scheduled.

 Can I submit multiple applications?
Yes - Over the course of the program, provided you don't  exceed the maximum  limits contained in the guidelines, you may submit additional applications.

What if our main headquarters is out of state?
Provided your Connecticut facility has fewer than 500 employees and meets the other requirements you can still apply.

Can our Connecticut training class include individuals from outside the Advance service area?
Yes - if  the total class cost for all participants is based upon a flat fee that does no vary based upon the number of attendees.

We are not an aerospace manufacturer but some of our customers are - might we still qualify?
Yes - if one or more of your customers are in the industry and you meet the other guideline requirements, you can still apply.

Relative to A&D - How much business must we do?
A total of $500k or more in the past 24 months with any number of original equipment manufacturers, or the Department of Defense or any number of their suppliers.


What if we don't have a "skills matrix/training plan"?
