MSCI's goal is to strengthen our nation's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), specifically manufacturing companies, to effectively compete in a more complex supply chain and gain advantage through both their individual and collective capabilities.

Through site visits, surveys, and research we continually seek to understand the needs of small and medium-sized manufacturers and subsequently develop programs that address these needs.  The current thrusts with SMEs are:

  • Productivity Improvement through promulgation of Lean Manufacturing, Supply Chain best practices, and new technology insertion
  • Market Expansion through facilitating new business opportunities to help grow top-line sales to sustain/grow employment levels
  • Workforce Development through strategy deployment, curriculum development, and collaboration with educational institutions to prepare today's workers and students for jobs in advanced manufacturing.
